The Polar Box is designed to offer float-free function of the H20 hydrostatic Release Units down to minus 50 degrees, a requirement under the IMO Polar Code. One H20 will release the lashing and the second H20 will cut the electrical cable to the life raft. The Polar Box shall be installed with HeaterGuard HM-0492 to optimize the heating in the Polar Box saving energy. The installation shall always be done by authorized ship's electrician.
