AUTOMATIC RIGHTENING BAG SYSTEM – ENHANCING SAFETY FOR HIGH-SPEED BOATS
We are proud to present our Automatic Rightening Bag System (ARBS) – a new solution designed to automatically recover capsized boats and improve safety for crew and passengers.
ARBS is based on our proven List Angle Detection (LAD) technology and addresses a critical risk for small, high-speed vessels: remaining upside down after capsizing. Automatic activation when it matters
Unlike traditional rightening systems, ARBS activates automatically based on the vessel’s position – not water exposure. The system continuously monitors the boat’s list angle and triggers the inflation of the rightening bag when a critical angle is reached, typically above 120° (upside down).
This ensures fast and reliable activation exactly when needed, without the risk of false triggering caused by spray, rain, or wet conditions.
Built on proven LAD technology
LAD technology was developed to ensure the timely release of life-saving appliances during capsizing events. Instead of relying on depth or water pressure, it uses the vessel’s angle to trigger release, reducing the risk of equipment being trapped.
ARBS applies the same principle, ensuring precise and dependable activation in critical situations.
Reducing critical response time
Time is crucial when a vessel capsizes. ARBS minimises the time the boat remains upside down by eliminating the need for manual activation.
The system:
- Reduces time in a capsized position
- Removes dependence on crew action in emergencies
- Supports faster recovery and improved safety outcomes
- A manual backup function is always available, ensuring full redundancy.
Flexible and easy to integrate
ARBS can be installed on new vessels or retrofitted to existing boats equipped with manual rightening systems. After activation, the system can be quickly reset with a refilled cylinder and rearming kit, making it practical for continued operation.
